My C. albostriatus needs deep substrate and an enclosure that maintains moisture. I used this as a lid instead of a door it's great! The ventilation hole placement makes it ideal to help maintain more moisture on one side of the enclosure than the other. The latching mechanisms also make this escape proof, and the lack of mesh or wire means the tarantula can't accidentally get its foot caught on anything.

This kit was easy to install and has made a perfect enclosure for my Avic.

If you're hesitating to get this conversion kit - don't. This is the best economical and display option on the market. Ive researched custom made glass and acrylic enclosures, but nothing beats this deal. I own other 5.5 and 10 gallon conversion kits for my pacman frogs. I think it's worth noting that a 5.5 gallon converted horizontally has the same floorspace as your typical 10 gallon unconverted aquarium.
