Multi-Unit Reptile Enclosure Assembly Guide

Multi-Unit Reptile Enclosure Assembly Guide

This guide outlines the assembly process for the Multi-Unit Reptile Enclosure. Please ensure you have a flat, stable workspace and a manual screwdriver for the acrylic components to prevent over-tightening.

Phase 1: Pre-Assembly & Component Prep

Before constructing the chassis, prepare the internal hardware on the top and front panels.

  • Top Insert Installation: Install the clips for the top inserts onto the top panel. Ensure these are securely seated, as they will support the ventilation or lighting inserts.

  • Front Door Stops: Attach the door stops to the front panel using the provided clips, bolts, washers and screws. Ensure the stops are flush and secure; these define the closing point for each unit door.

Phase 2: Main Chassis Setup

  1. Position the Base: Place the Bottom Panel on a table. Position it so the left and right edges overhang the table slightly; this allows for easier side-panel attachment later.

  2. Insert Vertical Panels: * Slide the Back Panel into its designated groove on the base.

    • Slide the Front Panel into its corresponding groove.

    • Slide the Unit Dividers into the interior slots.

  3. Cap the Structure: Carefully place the Top Panel over the assembly, ensuring all vertical panels (front, back, and dividers) align with the grooves in the top.

Phase 3: Structural Securing

  1. Side Panel Attachment: * Align the Left Side Panel and secure it to the top and bottom panels using the provided screws.

    • Repeat this process for the Right Side Panel.

  2. Upper Divider Fastening: Screw the internal dividers into the top panel to lock the unit spacing.

  3. Front & Back Alignment:

    • The Back: Screw the back panel into the dividers to ensure structural rigidity.

    • The Front (Caution): Align the front panel with the dividers. Use a screw and washer for each point.

PRO TIP: Do not over-tighten screws on the front panel. Acrylic is prone to stress-fractures; tighten only until snug.

Phase 4: Final Base Fastening

  1. Flip the Unit: Carefully rotate the entire enclosure upside down.

  2. Seat the Dividers: Verify that all dividers are perfectly seated within the grooves of the bottom panel.

  3. Final Screws: Fasten the bottom panel to the dividers to complete the assembly.

Post-Assembly Inspection

  • Check that all doors swing freely against the stops.
