Installation Guide: Pro-Flow Series Round Vents

Thank you for choosing Pro-Flow Series Vents for your custom build! Our threaded design makes installation quick, secure, and tool-free once your hole is cut.

Tools You Will Need:

Power Drill
Hole Saw or Forstner Bit (Must exactly match the size of the vent you purchased: 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", or 6")
Sandpaper or a deburring tool (optional)

Step-by-Step Installation:

Plan Your Placement: Mark the center point for your vent. For the best airflow, we recommend a cross-ventilation setup (e.g., placing vents low on the cool side and higher up on the warm side).
Drill the Hole: Using the hole saw that matches your vent size, carefully drill through your enclosure wall. (Tip: If drilling through thin plastic, go slowly and apply gentle pressure to prevent cracking).⚠️ We do not recommend using a hole saw with acrylic, acrylic is easy to crack, message us if you would like a custom cut on one of our acrylic products
Prep the Edges: Clear away any splinters, burrs, or melting from the edges of the newly cut hole to ensure the vent sits flush.
Insert the Vent: Remove the backing nut from the vent. Push the threaded body of the vent through the hole from the outside of the enclosure, so the textured bezel sits flush against the exterior wall.
Secure the Nut: From the inside of the enclosure, thread the backing nut onto the vent. Hand-tighten only! Do not use pliers or wrenches, as overtightening may damage the threads or your enclosure wall.

These vents are crafted from high-durability PLA-Tough and are designed for ambient airflow only. Do not install them directly under or adjacent to heat lamps, ceramic heat emitters, or high-output UV fixtures. Excessive heat will cause the material to warp.

Q: What size hole saw or drill bit do I need? A: We keep it simple: the size of the vent you purchased is the exact size of the hole saw you need. If you bought a 3" vent, drill a 3" hole! The threaded body will fit snugly through, and the front bezel is designed to overlap the edges to hide any minor cutting imperfections.

Q: Which depth version do I have, and does it matter? A: Yes! We make two versions to ensure a tight, secure fit without excess threading sticking out inside your enclosure.

Standard Depth: Designed for thin walls up to 1/4" thick (perfect for glass, acrylic, or thin plastic tubs).
Deep Depth: Designed for walls up to 3/4" thick (ideal for PVC, plywood, or melamine builds).

Q: Can I install these on the top (ceiling) of my enclosure? A: You can, but only if there is no heat source nearby. These are made from PLA-Tough, which is incredibly durable against impact but will warp under high temperatures. Never install them near heat lamps, ceramic heat emitters (CHEs), or high-output UV fixtures. They are best utilized for side-wall cross-ventilation.

Q: Will tiny feeder insects escape through the mesh? A: The tight Geo-Mesh pattern is designed to contain most common feeder insects like crickets, mealworms, and dubia roaches while still maximizing airflow. (Note: Micro-feeders like flightless fruit flies or pinhead crickets may still navigate very fine mesh).

Q: How do I clean the vents? A: Simply wipe them down with a damp cloth and a reptile-safe cleaner (like chlorhexidine or a vinegar/water solution). Do not put them in the dishwasher or use boiling water, as the extreme heat will warp the plastic.
